Pellet boiler in 2026: grants and cost-effectiveness
A modern, automated wood heating system
The pellet boiler offers high efficiency and one of the cheapest fuels on the market. It powers central heating and hot water, with automatic feeding.
Available grants
- MaPrimeRénov': a fixed amount depending on your income band.
- CEE bonus: paid by energy suppliers, stackable with MaPrimeRénov'.
- Éco-PTZ: to finance the remaining cost interest-free.
The appliance must meet performance criteria (efficiency and emissions), and installation be by an RGE contractor.
Points to watch
- Plan a dry storage space for the pellets (silo).
- Expect a mandatory annual service.
- Calendar: after 1 September 2026, replacing a boiler with a pellet model as a standalone gesture is no longer funded — it must be part of a whole-home renovation.
Cost-effectiveness
Between fuel cost and grants, the payback is often shorter than other fossil fuels. Estimate your grants to know your real remaining cost.
Indicative amounts — the actual grant depends on ANAH's processing of your file.
